Background Information

Fred McGee served as Vice President of Planning for Meriter Health Services from 1993 to 2009. His health care experience includes extensive clinical experience in respiratory therapy and cardiovascular and intensive care settings. He originally joined Madison General Hospital in 1983 as Director of Cardiovascular services and has also served as Program Director of Emergency Services and then Meriter’s Director of Business Development. In July of 1990, he became the Director of Planning and Business Relations. He was promoted to Vice President of Planning in 1993.

Fred McGee has been active in the Madison Area Employers Health Care Coalition, the American Hospital Association, the AHA Planning and Marketing Society, and the Wisconsin Forum for Healthcare Strategy.

He has served in a variety of functions in support of the Dane County United Way including membership on the Board of Directors, chairing the Self Reliance and Independence community solutions team, and serving on the United Way Vision Council. Fred has interest in local economic development and serves on the Dane County Smart Growth Housing and Economic Development committee.

Fred holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Appalachian State University in 1976 and a Masters of Health Care Administration from George Washington University in 1981
